1.Smiling Buddha                                               

Many people are an aware of the fact that India started its nuclear research before independence

In 1944  Bhabha Jehangir and physicist Raja Ramanna started the research

In 1962 indo china war happened  in which india lost its 4000 soliders

In 1964 to become more powerful china tested its first nuclear test

It became a triggering incident for india to  become a nuclear power

Then finally on 18 may 1994 India tested its first nuclear test known as smiling Buddha

But was detected by cia satellite , it was partially successful because india was able to conduct only 1 nuclear test and led to development of enthusiasm in minds of Indians for further nuclear development

And after 24 yrs India by diverting American satellite vision india successfully  conducted 5 nuclear test making india as the 6^th nuclear power in the world

And this nuclear test is also known as operation sakthi

 2.Bangladesh formation

Today’s Bangladesh was known as east Pakistan

Pakistan had started military administration in east Pakistan leading to massive assassination of people of east Pakistan

That led to formation of revolutionary group in the state and also people were trying to enter in india territory

This led to serious In- security to Indian government and then pm Indira Gandhi interference in the matter

India raised the issue in UN and warned Pakistan to stop the the holocaust

Unlike this Pakistan attacked 5 indian cities namely

1.Ambala

2.Srinagar

3.Jodhpur

4.Pathankot

5.Amritsar

And finally on 16 dec 1971 india declared a war

As a retaliation act india invaded in east Pakistan and  as a result india won the war leading to surrender of Pakistan army

And later in Indian parliament India declared east Pakistan as a independent state known as Bangladesh

3.Indian institute of technology(IIT)

IIT’s is known as the biggest achievement of india in educational field

Today’s many ceo’s  of big commercial multinational companies are pass outs of iit’s

Sundar pichai is an example of that

Iit’s was founded in 15 sep 1956 (63 yrs ago)

As an outcome of Indian institute of technology act dated 1961

Today iit’s are operated in 23 cities across india

Getting into IIT is still an dream of many students in India

4.Cricket World cup (1983)

Even though india’s national sport is hockey, Cricket is very much liked sport across the country right from the british colonial rule

This is a great achievement because Indian cricket won the tournament in 3^rd edition of international cricket tournament and after this many great cricketers were born from Indian territory 

5.Mangalyaan or Mars orbital mission

After the success of Chandrayaan 1 India made a great achievement in space sciences

India victory made a history because it was the country to reached on mars in its first attempt

India completed the project in 454 crore Indian rupees ($64 million dollar) which was very cheap compared to NASA around $672 million dollar

India became the  4^th agency to reach mars after roscosmos , nasa and  european space agency

 

India  was also the first Asian country to reach mars in first attempt
